I have so manybills to pay. What should I do? After a stroke, it may be a challenge to stay on top of daily details such as paying bills. But if you miss a payment on an important bill, such as an insurance bill, you might lose your coverage. Try to pay all of your bills on time, if possible. This helps you keep a good credit rating. If you cant pay all of your bills at once, decide which ones are the most important and pay them first. Decide which bills can wait for a while. Ask your caregiver to help you decide which bills to pay first. You or your caregiver also can call the people and companies to whom you owe money. Explain that you have had a stroke. Ask if you can have longer to pay. Most people will understand and will give you more time to pay. When you talk with companies about your situation, you may learn about programs to help people pay their bills.
