Jane C. Ingalls, Partner
Jane Ingalls is a partner of Strategic Execution Group, a consulting firm formed in 2006 with her business partner, Steve Scheid. Ms. Ingalls’ 20 years of experience working with executives has placed her at the front lines of corporate decision making. Her ability to combine strategy development, clear financial messages, and effective communications plans is essential to her clients’ success.
Ms. Ingalls is also the founder of Artemis Communications, a consulting firm that works with senior executives to develop and articulate corporate strategy and align communications efforts with an organization’s strategic focus, brand positioning, and values. She counsels companies on crisis communications, corporate communications, public relations, and marketing.
Artemis clients range from privately-owned firms to public companies and from entrepreneurs to executives at Fortune 500 companies. Although she and her team have numerous financial services clients, Ms. Ingalls also works with companies in mining, real estate private equity, technology, and the quick-service restaurant business. She also consults with one of the country’s leading law firms on crisis issues.
Strategic Communications Experience
Prior to establishing Artemis, Ms. Ingalls served as senior vice president of corporate communications and chief of staff to the CEO and Chairman of Janus Capital Group (NYSE: JNS). She was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, which developed Janus’ strategy and set the overall direction for the firm. She designed the corporate communications plan that was a key component of Janus’ resurgence.
Ms. Ingalls joined Janus in 1999. Until her departure in 2006, she managed the company’s media relations, employee communications, and corporate philanthropy departments. She directed the firm’s investor relations activities, structured the key financial messages, and was the architect of the Chairman and CEO’s frequent internal and external speeches.
Prior to joining Janus, Ms. Ingalls held communications and marketing positions in New York City at OppenheimerFunds, Sawyer/Miller Group, Prudential Securities, and Morgan Stanley. She is a 1988 graduate of Hartwick College.
Non-Profit Service
Ms. Ingalls is chairwoman of Janus Next Generation Scholarship Advisory Committee. She is also an advisor to the Philanthropic Services Group of The Denver Foundation, which is the largest community foundation in Colorado and among the top 25 community foundations in the country. Ms. Ingalls also serves on the board of McAleer Gray, a well-respected national executive search firm. She resides in Denver with her husband and two sons.
